COFFEE POT. No. 14.934. Patented Apr. 1.1884.

M iml UNITED STATES PATENT ()FFIcE.
HENRY 0. RICE, OF LOUISIANA, MISSOURI.
DESIGN FOR A COFFEE-POT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,934, dated April 1, 1884.
Application tiled October 5, I883.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, lll-INRY 0. Run, acitizen of the United States, residing at Louisiana, Pike county, Missouri, have invented or produced a new and original Design for Coffee- Pots, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying d rawing, forming part hereof, which shows my newly-designed coffee-pot in side elevation.
A is the lower portion or body of the pot, which is of conical form, and is provided with a handle, a, anda spout, b, in much the usual way. The spout b is tapering, joins the body A at the lower portion thereof, and projects from it at an angle, in the manner common to coffeepots as heretofore made. On the top of the body A is an upward extension, B,joining the body A atg with abead or beads. This extension B is of the form of an inverted frustum ofa cone, the angle ofwhich is but slightly greater than that of the conical body A. The union of the inverted conical extension B at g with the conical body A, and the flaring of both parts in both directions from their line of union, produces a pleasing and unique eifect. The joint 9 is about on a level with the end of the spout b, and is considerably above the base of the handle a, to which proportions the novel eflect is in part due. The extension B extends Term of patent 14 years.
up a distance approximately equal to half its diameter, and on its top is placed the cover (1. This cover has a flange, d, projecting over the top of the extension B, and the remaining portion of the cover is convex or dome-shaped,and appears wholly above this flange. On top of the cover is a handle, 6.
My design is equally applicable to teapots and other similar receptacles.
I claim 1. The design for a pot herein shown, the same consisting of the conical body portion A, having handle a and spout b, with upward extension B joining the body A at g, and of inverted conical form.
2. The design for a pot herein shown, the same consisting of the conical body portion A and inverted conical extension B, joining at g, as shown, with the cover C, having flange d, projecting over the top of the extension B, with a domeshaped top above said flange.
In witness whereof I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
HENRY 0. RICE.
