DESlGN FOR SPOON SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,137, dated January 18, 1881.
Application filed October 20, 1880. Term of patcnt7years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, HENRY W. HIRSOH- FELD,of Meriden,in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Spoon and Fork Handle; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification, and represents a front View.
This invention relates to a design for the handle of spoons, forks, and like articles of table service; and it consists in the ornamentation of the handle, as shown in the accompan ying illustration.
In outlinethe handle gradually expands from its narrowest part to the end, where it terminates in segment shape. On the surface at the end is a segment-shaped border, a, composed of a head above and below, filled with a series of small rose-shaped figures, and below the border a is a transverse band, I), consisting of a bead above and below, with a 11erring-bone filling, and the space between the the ornamental segment-shaped border a and transverse band I) at the tip, with a checked surface extending from the narrower portion toward the end, and terminating on the surface in a semi-quarterfoil bead, with floriated tracery, and the representation of a bird on said checked surface, all as shown in the accompanying illustration.
