To all whom if may concern Be it known that I, Cinemas 1. GROSJEAN, a citizen of the l nited States, residing at Green Point, in the county ol' Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design of Spoon or Fork Ilandle, of which the following is a specification, ret'erenee being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
The features of novelty of this design of spoon or fork handle consist in an arrangement upon such a handle ot the Indian ehrysantheinuni.
1n the drawings, Figure 1 is a view of the front, and Fig. 2 is a view of the reverse side or back, 01' a handle with said flower placed thereon.
()n the front, from the ribbed shank (r. and undulating outline I; the sharp-p0inted leaves 0 extend upward, wrapping over a cushionlike surface, partiall covering or overlying interspersed ehrysanthennnn flowers (I, the outer rib, e, of the shank widening as it extends upward, and terminating in a large floweiyf, at the top of the handle, thus coinpleting the design on the front.
The reverse side of the handle-nameb, the backis of a depressed t'orn1-that is, depressed toward the center g, extending the whole length of the handle, and rounding over at the edge h. The ornamentation is similar to the front, but may be in lower relief, as shown in the drawings, and may extend down over quite a large portion ot the bowl, as also shown in the drawings at '1'.
1 claim-- 1. The Indian chrysantheinuni (l, arranged on a spoon or fork handle, substantially as shown and described.
2. The ribbed shank and undulating outline, with the ehrysanthennnn combined therewith, substantially as shown and described.
