Be it known that l, Minnen E. LArNn, a citizen o1 the United States, residing at Houston, in the count)v of'l'larris and State oi' Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tell Mechanisms,
of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to Well mechanism and has for its principal objects; the. pro'- vision of mechanism ploying an overhungvertical drive pulley wherein the space inside the over hang is utilized as a bearing and oil reservoir or pocket; theprovision of improved and simports such shaft laterally,

Because of the packing 18, the oil which -is supplied to the casing collects above the block 9 until its level rises above the end of the-pipe 21. This arrangement insures a bath of oil about the bearing 11 extending up as high `as the top of the pipe 20. The

The shaft is still further supported in the pum casing 26, by means of the sleeve 30, whic sleeve as shown in Fig ure.2 is screw threaded for a portionv of its length and is provided with a head or flange 1 which'.lange fits into a recess provided for it in the pump casing 26. By means ofthe sleeves 25 and 30 the shaft is securely su ported -in the pump casin and arings are provlded o such construction that all danger of the parts working out of place is avoided.
The pump construction and the manner of its support is shown in detail in Figures 2, 3 and 4.v As hereshown ythe ump casing comprises the inner member 2a heretofore referred to, and the outer-f sectional casing member 32, the arts of such sectional casing being -bolte shown. Intermediate the two casings 1s the curved passage 33, in which are mounted the two sets of blades 2 2, such blades being secured to the drive shaft 1. The blades 2-2` are preferably of the shape shownin Figures 3 and 4, and are so constructed that their outer ends extend out past the outer circumference of the inner casing 26. By making the passa e 33 in an unbroken curve, as illustrated in lgigure'2, and by the use of the blades with their ends extending tothe points shown, the eiiiciency of the pump is very greatly increased. The outer casing member 32 is suppdrted frolnthe discharge casing 4I by means of the coupling 35, and the inner casing member 26 is supported from the shaft casing 8 `by means of the couplings 28 heretofore referred to. The threaded joints used throughout the construction are preferably made with right' handed threads, and the pump blades are turned to the left, so that the tendency of `the rotation of the blades and shaft is to screw u the various couplings and joints instead o unscrewmg them.
