I, JOHN ZIMMERLI, -a citizen ofthe Republic of'Switz'erland,;-re-. siding at Providence, in the coun' dence and State of Rhode Islan havein vented new and useful Improvements in Flying-Machines, .of which the following is secure an ease of motion in steerin preserving the balance of the machine.
With these and other objects in view, the
invention consists of the features of cona specification.
- This invention relates to flying machines, and particularly to a flying machine of the combined helicopter and aeroplane type.

Referring. to the drawings,,the numeral 1 designates the frame of the machine which may be of any suitable construction and provided, if desired, with supporting wheels 2 for convenience in transporting the same from place to place along the ground. The upper and lower planes of each set are adapted to be mediate angle through the medium of an operating lever 13 and suitable connections. As shown, a cord or cable 14 is connected with the lever below its pivot, passes over suitable guide pulleys 15 on the frame and is directl connected with the lever arms 8 and 12 o the upper and lower planes of the front and rear sets and is connected by a branch cable 16 with the correspondin lever arm of the planes of the interm ia te set. A second cord or cable 17 is connected with'the lever 13 above its pivot point,
and is connected with the lever arms 7 and 11 of the front'andrearsets of planes, and is also connected by a branch cord 19 with the corresponding arm o'fthe intermediate set of planes. Bythisconstruction and arrangement of the controlling connection, the.
horizontal position, and vice versa, or to any intermediate position in a ready and convenient manner.
For the purpose of driving and lifting themachine, propellers 20, preferably two in number, are employed, which propellers are arranged one in rear of the other in the central line of the machine and intermediate the sets of aeroplanes.
