With these objects in view my invention consists in certain constructions, combinations and arrangements of parts the referred form of which will be first described" in connection with the accompanying draw-1 .ings and then the invention particularly pointed out in the appended claims. Referrin to the drawings wherein the same part 1s designated by the same reference-numeral wherever it occurs, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a flying machine embo'dying my invention; Fig. is a central longitudinal section thereof.

These shafts 25 are driven by means of the belts 27 which extend from the long pulley 23 on the drive shaft of an engine 22 to eac of the shafts 25. In order to further increase the driving power and to cause the car 14 to remain in ';.substantially the same vertical plane as the container 3, I provide said car with a driving propeller 30 at the stern thereof, said propeller being carried upon a shaft 31 of an engine 32. It is to be understood that while the engines 22, 29 and 32 are preferably gas engines, other-forms of engines may be used'if desired.
From the foregoing description it will be obvious that I have provided a flying machine having great lifting capacity, due both to the power of the gas contained in the part 3, thehelicopters, and the forward surfaces of the part 3 and the car 14. i It is to be understood of course that suitable steering rudders are to be provided, but as they form no part of my invention I have not illustrated the same.
I realize that considerable variation is possible in the details ofconstruction and arrangement of parts without departing from the'spirit of my invention, and I therefore do not intend to limit myself to the specific form shown and described.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: p 1. A flying machine comprising a metallic gas container of generally rectangular form having its forward end upwardly inclined to form a lifting plane, helicopters'mounted on each corner ofthe container, driving meansmonnted on top of the container and connected to the helicopters, means mounted upon the top of the container for driving the same forward, a car hung below the con-' gas container of generally rectangular form,-
cords connecting the upper and lower portions of the container to brace the same against internal pressure, a gas bag below the container, anopen connection between the gas bag and container, a car supported below the gas bag, propellers mounted upon top of the container and also in the car, and means for driving each of said propellers.
