State of Pennsylvania, have invented au Improvement in Apparatus for Controlling the Flow of Liquids, of which' the following is a specification. In many instances it is desirable to vary the quantity ofliquid discharged propor- This is particularly -desirable in connection with sewage disposal systems in which the sewage is distributed by a sprinkler or noznecessary that it shallbe distributed evenly on the hed. This cannot be accmnplished with stationary nozzles by simply increasing and decreasing the radius of the spread without any variation in the quantity oi liqf uid discharged, since the arcas supplied will vary directly withv the squares of the radii of the spread, and if the quantity discharged is constant for all i'adii,less liquid per surface unit will he distributed over the surface olf the hed in' greater areas than will be distributed over the surface .in .less areas..l
To obtain the even' distribution of liquid it is necessary towvaiy `the quantityv of the liquid discharged proportionally with the spread o` area supplied. As the radius ot the spread-and consequently' the area supplieds-decreuses, the quantity of liquid disr charged-n1.|istdecrease,'and vice versa.
