Be it known that I, FRANCIS P. Huron, a citizen of the United States, residin at Toledo, in the county'of Lucas and tta-te of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Controllers for Electric and I do declare .the following to be a full, clear, and exact descriptionv of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which Iit appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
My invention relates to electric motors for sewing machines, and its object is to furnish i 1n connection with a' motor, mounted directly upon designed to be and operatively connected with the shaft of a .sewing machine, a controlling device consisting of a rheostat and a brake assembled with the motor as a compact unitary structure adapted, as above stated, to be connected 4directly with the shaft of a sewing machine, thus dispensing with theV controlling devices heretofore in use in which the rheostat is an independent mechanism secured separately, beneath the sewing machine table.

In my application for a patent for sewing machine electric motors, filed June 7, 1907, Serial-Number 377,710, of which this application is a division, I have shown and described an electric sewing machine motor comprising a rotary member and a stationary member concentrically mounted in subl the same plane with a supporting frame or housing,` the rotary member being operatively connected with a sewing machine shaft, the' frame and the stationary member being revoluble about the sewing machine shaft but being provided .with table-rests which preventthcir rotation. These parts being there sufficiently described there will be given here only such motor and its associated parts as will give a proper understanding of my controlling devices.
