Be it known that we, EWALD'F. PAWSAT and HERMANN PAWSAT, both citizens of the United States, and residents of Sheboygan,
in the county of Sheboygan and. State of lVisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Deflating-Tools; and we do hereby declare that the following is a't'ull, clear, and exact description thereof. The object' of our invention is to 'provideV a simple, economical and'eieet-ive deflatlngtool for use in connection with the valves of pneumatic tires or the like, the invention consisting i-n certain peculiarities of conf struction and combination of parts as set forth hereinafter with reference to the Vaccompanying drawings and subsequently claimed.
In the drawings Figure 1 represents a sectional elevation of a tool embodying the features of'our invention, the said tool being shown ad] usted to a valve for thepnrpose of.

Referring by 'characters to'l the drawings, 1, 1, represent jawmembers, between which is loose y fitted a 'plfu 2, the` jaw-members and 'plug being `secure together by means of a circular spring 3, which spring passes through kerfs 4 in the ends of the jaw-members, the spring ends being embeddedwithin the opposite end of said jaw-members. The jaws', `as best shown in Fig. 3, are adapted t0 fnlcru'ni npon each other when opened or closed in opposition to the s pring,fa nd when open, as shown in Fig. 1, they will readily 'engage the threaded end of a. valve-easing 5, the internal gripping faces ofthe jaws being preferably concave, as shown in Fig. 2,`
l \tl1ereby they will firmly grip said' casing, and when so gripped, the plug between said jaws is forced into the'alr' inlet of the valveeasing, whereby the'plng will engage the` valve stem 6 and depress the saine to such position that its valve will be unseated and held so until the tool Y'is removed. Thus the air is free to pass through' the valve from the tire to which it is-attached.
