To'all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDMUND ECKART a citizen of the United States, and resident of New Rochelle, Westchester county, Stat e of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cans, of which the following -is a specification.
My invention relates to cans and has'forits object to construct a can of large size .and diameter so that a friction cover may be used in connection therewith without the danger of said cover being accidentally dislodged. In other words I provide an additional outside top preferably made of soft metal toprevent the said cover from being displaced by the pressure of the contents of the can against said cover from the inside.
My invention will be fully described hereof novelty will be pointed out in the appended claims.

The cover 5 is provided with a number of reinforcing'ringsfi and has a central opening 8 having a downwardly projecting flange 9 similar to the flange 4." This opening 9 is adapted to receive a recessed or depressed "friction cover 10 the wall 11 of which is arranged to frictionally engage the flange 9 and secure the cover 10 in. position.
