This invention relates to telephone circuits.
and more especially to a device for detecting a third party on a telephone circuit.

By this means when the receiver fork .ms completed its upward movement the lever 44 released from restraint and the weight 46 pulls the frame downward. thus actuating the signal. Itwill he observed that by ineansof this mechanism. the entire signal is rung every timethe receiver is removed from its fork and that until the signal is com: pleted the receiver cannot be again depressed. It. is thus impossible to so actuate the receiver fork as to cause an incorrect. nal to be given. There has thus been provided a simple and elllcicnt device of the kind descrihcd and for the purpose specified. It is ohvious thatminor changes mavhe made in the form and construction of this invention-without departing from the material principlesthcreof. It is not therefore desire to confine the invention to the exact. form herein sho n and described, but it is wished to include all such as properly come within the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described the invention, what. is claimed as new, is: 1. In a device of the kind described, a signaling mechanism, a receiver fork, means said means operating to set said mechanism upon the depression of the fork, elements arranged to prevent a. second depression of the fork until the signaling mechanism has completed its ope 'ation, and other elements ar ranged to hold the signaling mechanism from operation until the receiver fork oompletcs its upward movement.
