Be it knowh that I, DARIUS GALLAGHER, u citizen lof the United Statesof'America, residing at New vYork city, inthe county of New York and State ofv N ew York, have invented 'certain new andfus'e'ful Improvements in Fontain-Pens, of which the'followinga,` isl :1 -specification; reference being had therein to the accompanying drawin i .This invention relates to thatela' of fountain'penswhich arefcomposed of three main sections, the. .pen-point section, the reservoir section and the point protecting section, which when/assembled constitutethe ordinary lstylographic writing pen. .Such pens when .empty of' ink necessitate the u11-, screwing and removal of the pen-point section to o en the reservoir section so. that it can be lied; by a-dropper lor, otherwise. Heretofore it has been proposed `to provide the reservoir sectionwith a cap protector having. the characteristics of a suction-bulb which when removed from over'thepen point could be applied tothe opposite end of the pen to draw the 'ink up through the point of the holderv into the. reservoir and therebyr fill it by suction after the manner of an-ordinary dropper. 'i' t The object of my device is to overcome many of the objectionable yfeatures of,such combined fillers and point-protectors bycer- Vtain peculiar features and combinations to be more fully described hereinafter and pointed out' in the claims. n

The numeral 1 indicates a .tubular reservoir and pen-holdingsection,c2 a substan tially cylindrical-elongated hollow cap section, and 3 .a combinedpoint cover'and suction bulb. The reservoir section l, is prof vided with a reduced half 4 having external threads l5 commencing at a shoulder 6 and extending toward the end of the section for about half'an. inch or more in order to make a-tightjoint when the cap section is applied.
