Be it known that l, llinniAM il. Siinn'ron, citizen of the United States, residing at Van Vlecli, in the county of ltd'atagorda and State of Texas, have invented a new and useful Fumigator, of which the following is a specification..
This invention relates to an improved article especially adapted for use in fumigating poultry nests and enterminating the mites and lice which infest the saine.V The article can also be employed for fuinigating clothes, or it may be employed for perfuining purposes, as desired.
The principal object of the invention is to provide an article which is preferably made from glass, although other material, such as porcelain or the like, can be employed equally as well, and is preferably formed in the shape of a hollow egg.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device of the class described which Will permit of the saine being readily and partially filled with a fuinigating liquid or* the like; will allow the fumes arising from the said liquid to pass out from the article, but will retain the said liquid within, irrespective of the position. of the said article, and thereby prevent the said liquid from coming in. contact with Whatever is being fumigated.
With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the construction and novel combination of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, and ointed out in the claims hereto appended; 1t being understood that various changes in the forni, proportion, size and minor details of construction, within the scope of the claims, may be resorted to out departing from the spirit or sacrilicing any of the advantages of the invention.

Referring to the drawing, 5 designates a hollow, preferably egg-shaped tube or shell constituting a receptacle for a fuinigating liquid or powder, and is preferably formed Y lllhile the receptacle is shown as being egg-shaped, and is especially advantageous inthis shape, inasmuch as it can be employed as a nest egg, l. do not wish to limit myself thereto, as other forms, such as spherical or rectangular shapes, can loe employed equally as Well. ln practice, coal-oil or other suitable furnigating liquid or a powder is poured into the receptacle through the inwardly extending tube G until the level of thc-said liquid closesl the open inner end 7 of said tube as clearly shown by reference to Fig. l of the drawing. The fumes arising from the said liquid will readily pass out through the tube tl; but the liquid, however, will be 'forced to remain within the receptacle because of the fact that the open inner end 7 of the tube will always be above the level of vthe liquid, irrespective of the position as sulned by the article, as clearly shown in al the figures of the drawing.
The device can be packed in trunks along with clothingaud lilled with material obnoxious to mdths, and under these eircum stances may be constructed of any suitableshape, as the egg-shape is not particularly desirable for such purposes. 4Whether used for this purpose or for a nestegg it is ad mirably adapted to perform the functions herein stated.
What l claim is 1. A hollow nest formed of glass and constituting a` receptacle for containing a fumigating element, said receptacle being provided with an inwardlv extending and open-ended integral tube, the inner end being arranged near the center of the receptacle, the said tube adapted to permit of the egress of the fumes of the said element, but not the element, irrespective of the position of the receptacle.
