To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ANTON LEDERER, a subject of the Empire of Austria-Hungary, residing at No. S3 Atzgersdorf, nean'Vienna, in the Province of Lower Austria and E1np'rre of Austria-I-Iungary, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Iny the following is a specification.
The invention relates to the construction of incandescent electric lamps employing fragile filaments'such, for instance, as those made of brittle metals, the object being to provide a means for supporting suitable lengths of filament in a convenient manner, reducing, to breakage.

Referring to Figs. l and '2, a represents the stem of the lamp. It is provided with an extension, D. which may be either tubular' or solid. lVitliin this extension are placed conducting wires, 7L, 71., for the electric current. Filaments arranged according to the manners herein setforth are readily adaptable to being connected in multiple or in series or I claim as my invention:
1. In an electric lamp, a filament support, a light-giving portion surrounding said support and arranged in lines substantially parallely to its axis, an extension for'said sup- )ort and a second liohtivinv )ortion sinnlarly arranged and surrouuling the said eX- tension.
2. In an electric lamp two light-giving portions each arranged in the forni of a hollow cylinder, the lines' ofthe filament forming such cylinder being substantially parallel with its axis.
3. In an electric lamp a filament support 75 surrounded by the light-giving portion arranged to* form luminous lines substantially parallel withits axis, a second support coaxial with the former and similarly surrounded by a second light-givingportion also arranged to form luminous lines substantially parallel with its axis.
l. In an incandescent.- electric lamp, the combination of a central supporting stem, a series ofv incandescent filaments of U- Shape form, supports for said filaments at or near one end of the central support, a second series of filaments arranged around an extension of said support in a similar manner, and supports for the second set of 90 filaments located beyond the looped portions of the first series of filaments.
