IMPROVEMENT IN WEIGHING-BASKET.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part C! th name.
To all whom it 'may concern,
Be it known that we, l, RENNE and F. LANDEN- BERGEn, of the city, county, and State of' New York, have invented a new and improved Basket; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to makeand use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification.

The object of this invention is to constructa basket so that it will indicate the weight ot' the articles contained in it, to enable housekeeper-s and other part-ics buying goods, to judgewvhetber the correct weighthas been n'ieasured out to them.
The invention consists in suspending the bottom of the basket from springs` which are fastened to the sides of the same, and in connecting such movable bottom with an index-hand or pointer, which will show on a graduated plate or scale the amount ot' weight resting upon the bottom. Thereby the person carry ing the basket will he enabledto see how much weight there is contained in it, and thus fraud by unprincipled venders will be prevented.

Aslarti'cles are placed upon the bottom B, the same become weighted, and descends in proportion to the structed and arranged with respect to the others, in
the manner described.
