With t-he above-mentioned and minor objects in view the invention consists in boiler flue cleaning apparatus comprising a slotted eornbustionchamber roof at the rear end of the'ilue boilerand provided with horizontal guide bars at opposite sides of the slot, and a portable appliance insertible through the slot andfprovided with supporting and guiding means-cooperating with the guide-bars wherebyn to direct steam jets into all the iues of "eitherV Avertical row thereof; and the invention consists further in the novel parts. and combinations and arrangements of parts, as hereinafter particularly described and then pointed out 'in theraccompanying l claims.

It is evident that the cleaning operations may be done very quickly. and then the steam head may be. (promptly withdrawn through the slot, an the latte may be closed bythe cover 40. It should be understood, however, in case it be desired to leave the steam head remain permanently in one end ofthe slot; thecover of the slot may be "inade of suitable length, so that it 'with the guide-head ait one end thereof will entirely close the slot.

Having thus described the invention, what "lis claimed as new, is-

1. A boiler-flue cleaner including a steam- 'pipe-teein alinement with the main pipe` section, a.- tee-tting ,secured to the short pipe section and having .a closure therein closing the end of the pipe section, and a -handle in the tee-fitting.

1 2. A boiler-flue cleaner including a guidehead, and a steam-head comprising a main ipe section extending through the guidehead, nozzles attached to the pipe section, a

' cap on one end of the pipe section, a pipe-tee secured to the opposite end of the pipe-sections a relatively short pipe section secured to the pipe-tee in alinement with the main pipe section,v a tee-fitting secured to thev short pipe section and having a closure. therein c osing'the end of the pipe section, and a device connected to the main pipe section and coperating with the guidedto support the steam-head in vertical position; Y

3. A boiler-Hue cleaner including a pair of horizontal guide-bars', a. guide-head movable on'the guide-.bars and having a vertical guide-opening therein, a hollow steamhead extending yertically through the guideopening and having nozzles on the lower portion thereof below the guide-head and an inlet opening in the side of the upper ortion thereof above the guide-head, a andle-bar connected to the upper end of the steam-head, and' adevice connected to the steam head and cooperating with the guide-headt to support the steam-head in vertical position.

'4. In a boiler-line cleaner, the combination with a flue-boiler, and the rear wall of Athe boiler-setting, of a roof-wall at the rear .end of the flue-boiler having a slot therein vparallel to lthe end'of ,the boiler provided 'with alpair of guide-bars that extend in opposite sides of the slot and also upon the roorwall, aguide-head movable yupon and between the guide-bars and having a vertical guide-opening therein., la hollow steam@ head extending vertically through the guide-opening and having nozzles en lthe i,

lower portion thereof spaced opposite 'the ends of the flues of the boiler iii vertical rows. for directing blasts through all the lues in either vertical row simultaneously, and a device connected to the steam-head and cooperating with the guide-head to support the steam-head in vertical position.

5. Ina boiler-flue cleaner, the combination with a flue-boiler, and the rear wall .of the boiler-setting, of a roof-wall at the rear end of the flue-boiler having a slot therein` parallel to the end ofthe boiler provided with a removable cover, a pair of guide-bars in opposite sides of the slot, and a portable steam-head insertible in or removable from the slot when the cover thereof is removed, the steam-head. carry# ing a guide-head that is freely inaertible between or removable from between .the guide-bars and having nozzles .thereon that are spaced to correspond witlithe spacing of the lues in the boiler lin vertical rows, and adevice for adjustably connecting the guidehead to the steam-head.

6. In a* boiler flue cleaner, the combination with a flue-boiler, and lthe rear wall of the boiler-setting, of a. roof wall at the rear end of theboiler having a slot therein paiallel to the end of the boiler provided with a removable cover, a pair of guide-bars in opposite sides of the slot, one of the guidebars having marks thereon indicating the vertical rows of the boiler fines, a `guidehead movable in the slot and having flanges thereon bearing upon the guide-bars, one of the flanges having a pointer thereon to register with -the marks, the guide-head having a vertical guide opening therein, a hollow steam-head extending movably through head and an inlet-opening in the upper poi'- tioii thereof above theguide-head, a collar secured adjustably on the steam-head and I bearing upon the'guide-head, and a handlebar on the Upper end of the steam-head, e
