To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM J. GIBBoNs, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Switch and Fuse Supporting Bases, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in switch and fuse supporting bases, and other similar devices, and it has for its object to provide a composite insulating support which is adapted to protect the fuses, switch connections and other circuit devices supported on the base from moisture. i

Other objects and advantages of my invention will appear from the detailed description thereof which follows herein.

- For the purpose of enabling a clear and ready understanding of my invention, I have illustrated a convenient embodiment of the same in the accom anyi-ng drawings, but it will be understo that changes in the details of construction may be made within. the scope of the specification and claims without departing from my invention.

Hcretofore, so far as I am aware, these and similar parts have been mounted directly upon the insulatin base 1 and the. means for securing the sai parts to'the said base have extended entirely through the same. In such cases asbestos or similar ma terial has been interposed. between the base and the wall or other structure on which the said base is supported. The interposed material is pervious to moisture and in consequence the means employedfor connecaing the parts similar to 7 8 and '10 have been affected by moisture as havebeen other parts of the electric circuit, with the result that the successful operation of such devices has been impaired.

By mounting or supporting various parts such as the swltches, fuses and other parts forming portions of the circuit upon the insulating bars 2, all such difiiculty is avoided. when the said parts are connected or secured directly to the bars 2 they are protected against moisture from the wall or other structure on which the same is supported and in consequence no moisture is allowed to pass from the wall or other supporting structure to the operative parts.

In addition to the parts already described, I have shown a junction box 12 mounted upon the same base. The latter, however, constitutes no part'of my present invention which relates entirely to and consists entirely of the construction of an insulating supporting base consisting of two or more parts, one of which is a support or base for the other of said parts, and the latter constituting means to which the switch or switches, fuses and other parts of an electric circuit are secured.

Having thus described my invention, I claim 1. A support for the terminals, switches, fuses, and similar parts of an electric circuit consisting of a main base provided with a depression or seat formed therein and insulating material mounted in said depression or seat to which said terminals, switches, fuses and similar parts are adapted to be secured.
