To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, NATHANIEL D. FLY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Alice, in the county of Nueces and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combination Fish-Buckets, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to a combination fish bucket and its main object is to produce a device of this character which will be adapted for many difierent purposes.

My device is so constructed that it may be adapted to ones body, by suitable means, when the same is being carried from place to place or the same may be supported by means of the usual handle.

Another purpose to which my invention is adapted is the holding of the fishing rod in place while fishing.

Arranged at each end of the body of the device is a metal box or receptacle, one of which is utilized in holding the tackle and lunch While the other may be employed for carrying bait.

It will be seen that in constructing my device it may be easily made of sufficient height to be used as a camp stool. When thus constructed this bucket may be simultaneously used for minnows, fish, bait, tackle-box, camp stool and as a rest for the fishing rod.

Reference being had to the drawings: Figure 1 is a top plan view of my invention. Fig. 2 is a side elevation thereof. Fig. 3 is a vertical transverse sectional view thereof. Fig. 4: isa vertical segmental view taken through one of the metal boxes or receptacles. Fig. 5 is a side elevation, showing that side which is opposite to the one illustrated in Fig. 2.

In detail, my invention is described as follows:

In the embodiment illustrated, the body portion 1 consists in the convex side wall 2, the concave side wall 3 and the end walls 4 and 5, said wall 2 being supplied with a plurality of perforations 6. A perforated bottom 7 is secured to the side and end walls in a suitable manner. Hingeably secured to the upper edge of said convex wall by means of a hinge 8 is a top 9, said top being provided with an air chamber 10. This air chamber may be constructed of a suitable size to support a person above water when this invention is used as a float, for which purpose the same may be adapted.

Secured near each end of the body is a staple 11 to which is connected a hoop 12 provided with a grip 13. Also secured to said staples by means of ordinary harness clasps 1 1 is a strap 15, which is passed over the left shoulder when the device is being carried, said concave wall being thus formed to conform to the body of a person when the same is held thereto by means of the strap 15. Boxes 16 each of which is provided with a lid 17 hingeably secured thereto, are held in temporary engagement with their respective end walls of said body 1, by means of a plurality of hooks 18 passing through suitable perforations therein.

A socket 19, which ismade of solid metal, runs diagonally through the body 1 at the center and near the top thereof, said socket slanting downwardly from the concave wall 3 to said convex wall. Said socket receives one end of a fishing rod 20. This socket also affords additional strength to the body of my invention.

Although I have specifically described the construction of this device, yet I may reserve and exercise the right to make such changes or alterations in the form or construction thereof, as do not depart from the scope of the claims hereunto attached, and which will be obviously necessary in the manufacture thereof.

What I claim as new and wish to protect by Letters Patent, is:

1. In a device of the class described comprising a body portion consisting of a fish bucket, a socket running diagonally from one of said walls to the other, said socket adapted to receive one end of a fishing rod.

2. In a device of the class described comprising a body portion consisting of a fish bucket which is provided with one concave side wall and one convex side wall, a socket running diagonally from the concave wall to the convex wall and formed integral with the walls, said socket adapted to receive one end of a fishing rod.
