This invention relates to. internal combustion engines.
In order to increase or decrease the supply of fiiel in an internal combustion engine it is. custom to, adjust the; distance between the fuel pump. and the reciprocating part actuating the said. pump. The said ad ustment is usually performed by means of ascrew or the like situated at the ump. Sacha device has however several draw acks. For one. thin it is dificult to obtain a quite accurate ad'ent, and for theother' the adjustment is liable to be disturbed during the running. of the motor.
The ob'ect of the invention is to provide an. adjusting device which works in all respects quite satisfactorily.

In the drawing I have shown a suitable embodiment of my improved regulating device applied to an internal combustion engine. Figure 1 shows the regulating device adapted to be operated by hand, and Fig. 2
shows the same connected to driven by the en 'ne.
Referring to t e drawings, a is a disk a governor which may be of circular or other suitable form. Attached to the said disk are the pump 5, the'fulcrum'c for the reciprocating weight at actuating the pump, and, in the case illustrated in Fig. 1, the plane or guide 6 servin to control the speed by causing the weig 't d toswing outwardly so as not 'tomeet the pump iston y when the speed is increased above t 'e normal one. The invention is not limited to the'use of aspeed lane, but instead of such a plane a straight sliding surface 6 for the part d may be employed, as shown in Fig. 2, or the said part. may be guided or-suprted otherwise, if referred. it willthus a seen that the dis a may be turned or otherwise adjusted without the relative positions of the arts 5, 0, e being changed. By this means the stroke of the pump ma be increased or decreased, as may be esired. Thus, if the dlsk a is turned 'n the counter-clockwise direction, the stroke is decreased, and vice versa. A s is easily understood, the angle of turning 13 in each case very small, and the supply and exhaust conduits m and n connecte to the limp-therefore need only be slightly ii'exi- El'e in order not to prevent the turning.
