Be itknown that I, GEORGE A. LEFLEY, a
citizen of the United States of America, re-
siding at Nest View, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have in- Ve nted certain new and useful Improve trical conductor; second, to furnish the troliting an upward 'movement of the trolley ley with simple and effective means for limfwhe' n displaced; third, to furnish a sectional trolley pole that can be used in con nection with various kinds of trolley driven 3ars,'and fourth, to furnish positive and rcliable means for controlling the action of a trolley-spring employed for retaining a trolley upon awire.
With the above and other objects in View, the invention, consists in a novel construc- 'tion, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter described in detail and then claimed.

The upper end of the yoke section 21 is provided with the conventional form of yoke 23 and trolley-wheel 24, also with a depending hook 25 to which a cable 26 is connected.

The yoke section 21 is adapted to longitudinally aline with the pole section 9, and should the trolley-wheel become accidentally displaced, the tension of the spring 27 moves the yoke section 21 out of alinemcnt with the pole section 9, as shown by. dotted lines in Fig. 1, causing the pawl 13 to engage the rack 12 and limit "the upward movementor" the pole section 9. By pulling downward upon the cable 26, the trolley can be easily replaced upon the trolley-wire 28.
Having now described my invention, what I claim as new is 1. in a trolley, the combination with a shiftable frame and a pole section pivotally mounted therein, of a rack carried by said frame, a yoke section pivotally connected to the upper end of said pole section and having an angular Xt611SlO11,fL pawl pivotally-conneo ed to said pole section and adapted to engage said rack for limiting the movement of the pole section in one direction, a stirrup pivoted to the pawl, and a spring controiled rod pivotally connected at one end to the angular end of the yoke section and at its other end attached to the stirrup.

In a trolley, the combination with a shiftable frame and a pole section ivotally mounted therein, of a rack carrie by,the ,frame, a yoke section having an angular lower end pivotally connected to the pole section, a pawlpivotally attached to the ole section and adapted to engage said rack or limiting the movement of the pole sec tion in one direction, a spring-controlled r'od having a bifurcated upper end pivotally attached to the angular end of said yoke section and having its lower end screw-threaded, and a stirrup carried 'by the pawl and adjustably connected to the screw-threaded end of said rod.
