Obviously, the Weight of the sash and counterbalance is thus borne by the jamb and there is no strain upon the plate retaining screws. It is especially important that each ot' the main frame members is formed from a sinsuccessive bending on parallel lmes, being first cut to exact form and suitabl perforated by dies.

4. The' combination with a sheet metall Window frame having hollow side members cut away. to form a'n openin extending across both sash spaces, of a c osing plate for said openin bent into conformity with the jamb Wall a ove and below the opening.

A `sheet metal window sill having its inclined upper wall bent upwardly and forwardly upon itself and then sharply rearward parallele to its original direction, to formfbelow the' place of the lower sash' and just within the plane of its outer face an upward offset having an outer face adapted to reverse the current of incomin fluid and direct -it against the usual sash' 11p rprojecting over the offset against the body of the sill.` I 6.
