Description
H. MIKOREY.
PAINTING MACHINE.
APPLICATION FILED JAN. 22, 1908.
Patented Apr. 19, 1910.
UNITED STATES PATENT @FFICE.
HANS MIKOREY, OF SCI-I6NEBERG, NEAR BERLIN, GERMANY, ASSIGNOR TO THE FIRM OF MINIMAX CONSOLIDATED LIMITED, OF BERLIN, GERMANY.
PAINTING-MACHINE.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HANS MIKOREY, civil engineer, and a subject'of the German Emperor, and a resident of 13 VVartburgstrasse, in the city of Schoneberg, near Berlin, Kingdom of Prussia, and German Empire, have invented a certain new and useful Painting- Machine, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has reference to a painting machine which can be moved on wheels, and provided with a hand operated air pump.
Upon the drawing the machine is illustrated by way of example.
Figure 1 is a side view of the machine; Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same and Fig. 3 is a horizontal section through the container for the painting liquid.
In the supporting frame a, the paint container b is exchangeably mounted. From this container the paint or coloring liquid is discharged at the bottom through the faucet c to which a tubing not shown on the drawing is connected at the end of which a sprayer or the like may be provided. From the container 6 the painting liquid is ejected by pressure. Vith this end in view compressed air is introduced into the container, this being done preferably in such a manner, that the compressed air serves at the same time for agitating the painting liquid. This is accomplished by allowing the air admission pipe d to reach down to the bottom of the container or near to the bottom, where it terminates by a twirl-like branch 6. From this branch tube or tubes compressed air is discharged, it passes through the painting liquid, thereby stirring the same, and collects in the container 6 above the level of the liquid. Inasmuch as the container I) can be tightly closed by a cover or lid 72,, provided with safety valve f and gage pipe g, the air which is retained in the container under pressure, causes the ejection of the paint through the faucet c, as soon as the latter is opened.
, For the production of the compressed air an air pump is is provided which is also mounted in the supporting frame a, and which is actuated by the hand lever z and Specification of Letters Patent.

which is connected by a pipe m to the inner air pipe d of the container 7).
The supporting frame a is movable, and for this purpose it is provided with the wheel 12. This wheel a and the supports 0 constitute the supporting points of the machine in the operation of the same. In order to facilitate the movement of the machine, the hand lever i of the air pump which is journaled at 29 in the frame a, may be securely connected to the supporting frame a by means of a grasping hook Q engaging wlth cross bars '1' on the hand lever i, the lever serving then as a vehicle pole. A. handle 8 provided on the frame a, facilitates the handling of the machine, when it is moved about.
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is 1. The combination, in a painting machine, of a closed paint container provided with pressure fluid admitting means leading the pressure fluid to the bottom of said container and with liquid discharging means arranged in the bottom of said container, with a movable supporting frame, in which the paint container is exchangeably mounted, and a compressing pump mounted in said supporting frame and connected to the pres sure fluid admitting means of the paint container, substantially as described.
2. In a painting machine, the combination of a closed paint container provided with pressure fluid admitting means leading the pressure fiuid to the bottom of said container and with liquid discharging means arranged in the bottom of said container, with a supporting frame movable on wheels and carrying the paint container and a compressing pump, the hand lever of which is mounted in the said frame, and grasping hooks mounted in the supporting frame and being able to bring the hand lever of the pump in rigid connection with the supporting frame, substantially as set forth.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
HANS MIKOREY.
In the presence of- WVOLDEMER HAUPT, HENRY HASPER.
