Be it known that we, EnNns'r'G. GUSTAF- 50N und THOMAS DUQUE'rrE, citizens of the United States,'and residents of Grosvenor l)ale,' county of Windham, State of Con necticut, have invented an Improvement in Cloth-Guiding Means for Looms, of which the following description, in connection with the accompanying drawin is a specification, .like characters on the growing rep resenting like parts.
This invention has for its objectthe pro duction of novel means for eeetively guiding 'the edges of the web of cloth as it is wound into a roll by means of the take-'u mechanism of a loom, whereby the tinishe r ism shown in Fig. 1, taken on th'e line 2-2,
roll of cloth will have flat ends and the cloth will be wound firm and straight.

As a result the edges of successive layers or wraps of cloth are superimposed one u on the other and the com leted roll of clot is a true cylinder, with flirt., parallel ends, and with the cloth wound strai ht and smooth.y

Having fully described the invention, what we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: 4
1. In a loom, a Shaft upon which the cloth is wound, supports in which the ends of the Shaft :1ro rotatably mounted= laterallyend guides to coperate with the ends o and maintain flat the ends of the guides with the shaft-sup orts.
