This invention relates to doors, partienlarlr colte oven doors. Y
Une object ot' the invention is to provide 'i coke or other oven door whose metallic parts are not subjected to the direct heut of the furnace, so as to obviute loosening 'of the puits :ind to maintain rigidity.
Another object of the invention is to prf vide double or sectional doors for coke or other ovens which are not supported directly upon their hinges when in operative position. whereby the doors and their mountings are not under strain and h v virtue of which warping of the doors is obviated. because the doors setr on their own bases and thereto: sustain their own weight.

With the above and other objects in view, the present invention consists; in the conibination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, illustrated inthe accompanying drawings, and particularly pointed out. in the appended claims, it. being understood that. changes ina-y be made in the forni, proportion, size and minor details without departing from the spirit or sacritcing tiny of the advantages of the invention.

lt will be seenl that, the supporting neans is disposed in spaced relation to the walls of the ovens, by virtue of `which the linings 5 at the sides of the oven, as well as the hearth and arch thereof may be repaired, if necessary, without removing the doors or their sup orting means from the structure. It will a so be seen that surfaces of the doors and their aggroupmenrs. which are not subjected to the direct heat of the oven, may be ex sed to the atmosphere whether the doors in open or clcfi position. It will also be seen that the litiges proper are spaced from the doors so hat at no time do they become unduly heated, It will also be apparent that'the iron Ys of the device are not subjected to direct heat of the furnace, and when subjected to any heat atall, it is only whenthe doors are at rest; hence warping is obviated because doom, when subjected to heat, are not under strain.
