Be it known that I, WILLIAM L. G. RUMrr, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game Apparatus; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same. i

This invention relates to improvements in game apparatus.

The object of the invention is to provide a game apparatus by means of which interest: ing games may be played the success of which requires care and skill on the part of the players and which will afford an entertaining and amusing pastime.

Vith the foregoing and other objects 1n view the invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be more fully described and particularly pointed out in the appended claim.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a perspective view of a. game apparatus constructed in accordance with the invention; Fig. 2 is an enlarged vertical sectional view of the game board; Fig. 3 is an enlarged vertical sectional view of one of the balls or game pieces by means of which the game is played; Fi 4 is a plan view of one section of one of t e balls; and Fig. 5 is a detailed perspective view of one of the numbered disks which are arranged in the balls.

In the embodiment of the invention I provide a board 1 the front edge of which is beveled or inclined as shown in Fig. 2. On the rear edge of the board is formed an upwardly projecting stop flange 3 and within the flat upper surface of the board is formed a series of pockets 4:. Each of said pockets I g is provided with a number.

In connection with the board 1, I provide a number of balls 5 which are intended to be rolled up the inclined edge of the board and into the pockets formed therein. The balls 5 are adapted to contain a hidden number and in playing the game, a certain number of balls are assigned to each of the players and the numbers contained in the balls are added together and to the result is added the numbers opposite the pockets which have been entered by any of the balls rolled up the board. The sum of the numbers in the balls and the numbers opposite the pockets which have been entered by the balls, counts toward the game and the player having the largest score wins the game.

Any number of players may play the game and any number of balls may be provided and the balls before being used are preferably shaken up in a bag or other receptacle and a predetermined number drawn therefrom by the player who after rolling the same up the board adds up the numbers therein with the numbers of the pockets entered. The balls are then again placed into the bag or receptacle and shaken or mixed up after which the next player draws the specified number of balls from the bag and rolls them as previously described. This operation is repeated each time a new player rolls the balls.

The hidden numbers may be arranged within the balls in any suitable manner. The balls 5 are here shown as formed in separable sections one of which is provided with a screw-threaded socket 6 while on the opposite section is an exteriorly threaded projection 7 which is provided with a pocket or recess 8 in which is arranged a disk 9 on which is placed a number. When the disks 9 are arranged in the pockets and the sections of the balls are screwed together the numbers will be hidden from view and can not be ascertained until the balls are separated.

From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying draw ings, the construction and operation of the invention will be readily understood without requiring a more extended explanation.

Various changes in the form, proportion and the minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the principle or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention, as defined in the appended claim.
