By cutting the sheets or strips into such lengths a fran'ie structure can be made, upon which none of the sheets or stripsoverlap themselves, but the ends of each sheet or strip abut against each other thereby making a frame ofuniform cross section throughout its entire extent. This is of great importance because less work is required to finish the frame and a perfectly shaped frame is formed in the first instance which requires no trh'nming down of its periphery to do away with the overlapping edges of the ordinary frame. I have shown a work bench '60 having an inclined table (31, upon which the sheets are laid and fed into the machine. A guide (32 is pro ided upon this bench for directing the SllQLES into the machine, and adeflecting'shield .63 extends in between the pulleys 32, 12 to prevent the glued surface of the sheets from contacting with the belt as it passes around the roller 32.
The operation of the machine as fol lows:-The block or mandrelis extended to operative position and inserted into the loop or bight 41 of the belt 41, if; being un derstood that the pulley 32 has kleen'previ ously raised to permit the ready i!emoval or replacement of the block or mandrel.
