Another rominentifeature of the invention is in t e 'described form of mounting the spirit level between theA two members of .the head, which provides for the same being readily used either as a level `or a plumb.

In the modification of the invention suggested in Figs. 5, G and 7 of the accompanying drawings the invention preserves the same general features ofV the preferred ernbodiinent set forth in Figs. 1 to 4 inclusive in so far as the mounting of the spirit level betweenthe two spaced apart anged side members of the head, the pivotal mounting of the blade, and the clamping feature of i the upper corners of the side members which engage with and retain the blade 1n various adpisted posltions 1s concerned. yThe distinctive features of this form of the invention are embodied in the blade 38 the upper end of which is in the form of a quarter of acircle 39 and which is concentric to the pivotal point of the blade and which has an arc scale 41 thereon, which cooperates with an upper pointer 42 carried by one of the side members of the head to indicate the angular degree of the blade relatively to the head.- Preferably the outer edge of one of the members of the head has a recess 43 formed therein which receives a stop lng 44 carried by the blade to limit inward swing of the latter.

lVhat I claim is A tool of the character described compris ing spaced apart side members provided with bottom flanges and an upper pointer, a blade holder pivotally mounted between said members and having a circle. scale marked thereon which cooperates with said pointer to indicate the angular degree of said blade holder, a blade carried by said blade holder, means for limiting the inward swing of said blade holder, and means for clamping the blade holder between said members.
