Description

M. HIRSGH.
HEATING APPARATUS. APPLICATION FILED DEG. ao, 1907.
Patented Aug. 24. 1909.
@XM1 mosca UNITED sTATEs PATENT oEEioE.
MAX HIRSCH, 0F NEW YORK, N. Y.
HEATING APPARATUS.
To all whom it may concern.'
Be it known that I, MAX IIIRsoi-I, a subject of the Czar of Russia, residing at Brooklyn, New York city, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Heating Apparatus, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein t0 the accompanying drawing.
My invention relates to improvements in heating apparatus, more particularly, it has reference to an apparatus adapted for use in heating containers of water such as baths, vats or the like.
Referring to the accompanying drawings Figure 1 is a side view partly in section showing my heating apparatus. Fig. 2 a plan view of the same and F ig. 3 illustrates a suitable taper which may be used for igniting the apparatus.
3 is a flexible tube adapted to supply gas to the burners 4 and 5 with regulating valves (S and 7 for controlling the supply of gas, and the usual sleeves 8 and 9 for controlling the air supply through the openings 10 and 11.
12 is an outer casing hermetically sealed and provided with outlets 13 and 14 and a central passage 15 through which a suitable taper may be introduced for lighting the burners.
16 is a suitable taper or torch adapted to be introduced through the opening 15 to ignite the burners 4 and 5 after the gas has been turned on.
17 and 18 are hermetically sealed internal Specication of Letters Patent.
Application filed December 30, 1907.
Serial No. 408,609.
culate within same and come in contact with the heat of the burner below.
22 and 23 are extension brackets fastened to the outer casing and bent over at the other end to engage the clips 24 and 25.
27 are brackets fastened to the upper end of the air inlet passage, said brackets and brackets 24 and 25 being provided with openings adapted to receive the bar 26, so that the outer ends of the bar 26 after entering the brackets as aforesaid may rest upon top of the tub, tank or other container in which the heating apparatus is to be used.
Various modifications may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention.
Having described the invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
In a heating apparatus, the combination with the body comprising the combustionchamber, burners within said combustion chamber, a centrally located air inlet flue, exhaust vents over the burners, said air inlet flue providing access for igniting said burners, multiported water heating chambers over said burners providing for a free circulation of liquid from outside said combustion chamber, said heating chambers located between said burners and said eX- haust vents and a carrying frame attached to said apparatus.
In testimony whereof I atliX my signature in presence of two witnesses.
MAX HIRSCII.
