INCLOSED FUSE.
APPLICATION FILED DEG.17,1908.

"FA/E6656 wins/v 70/? UNITED STATEIS PATENT OFFICE.
FREDERICK P. POOLE, OF BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE BRYANT ELECTRIC COMPANY, OF BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT, A CORPORATION OF CON- NECTICUT.
INCLOS ED FUSE.
'Application filed December 17 1908. Serial No. 468,004.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FREDERICK P.-Po0LE, a citizen of the United States of America,
and residing at Bridgeport, in the county of- Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have inv ented a certain new and Improved Inclosed Fuse, of which the following is a spec zilica- Fig. 2 is a transverse section on the line 2-+2,
Fig. 1.
' 0 illustrate the invention I have shown a cartridge fuse having the usual sheathA B and rods C carryin buttons-c between which the fuse link I) is mounted. The latter in its improved form is cut from thin sheet metal from which holes (1 are punched to lessen the amount of metal at a convenient fusing, point intermediate the ends of the link. The edges of the blank, length- Specification of Letters Patent.

wise of its axis, are then rolled over to form, in cross section (see Fig. 2) a figure 8, thus inclosing two chambers to and which are sealed by the mounting of the link between the buttons 0. This form permits of filling these chambers with powders of different character or of the same character but different from that which surrounds the link as a whole.
A fuse of this type is much more economically man actured than one in which. a plurality of dependent closed links are cmloyed, while securing the advantages of the latter in the particulars mentioned.
I claim as my invention:
' An inclosed fuse having a sheath with conductors and between the conductors a link having its'edges lengthwise of its axis rolled up to form, in cross section, a figure 8, said conductors serving to close the ends of the chambers in the link so-formed. In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification, in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
