a citizen of the United States, residing at Lakeland, in the county of Polk and State of Florida, have invented certain new and use-' ful Improvements in Crib Attachments for Beds, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings. 1 a

My invention relates to improvements in crib attachments for bedsteads and it consists of the novel features of construction and the combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter describedand claimed. 7

One object of the invention is to provide a baby bed or crib support of simple, practical and comparatively inexpensive construction which is revolubly mounted so that the crib may be swung inwardly across the bed or outwardly along side of or away from the same.

Another object of the invention isto provide a device of this character in which the crib support may be quickly and easily detached from the. bed without loosening any screws or other fastenings.

A further object of theinvention isto provide a device of this character in which the parts may be adjusted for application to eds of different size and also adjusted for beds of different width and height. V

The above and other objects of the invention are attained in its preferred embodiment illustrated in the drawings, in which Figure l is a perspective view of a bed showing my improved crib attachment applied thereto, the crib being shown arranged over the bed in full lines and swung out along side of the same indotted lines;

The crib support 3 comprises head 22 from which project right angular supportii'ig arms 23 having parallel outer portions on which the crib-body 2 is removably supported. The head 22 is formed with a vertical opening to slidably receive the upper end20 of the standard and a set screw 24; arranged in said head for holding it in an adjusted position. This adjustment enables the crib to be disuosed in different horizontal planes according to the thickness of the bed and its covering. The crib supporting arms 23 are reinforced, adjacent to their inner ends, by angular braces 25, the lower ends of which are united to provide a tongue 26 which enters the groove 21 in the s 'andard. and which slides therein when the support 3 is adjusted.

The crib is removably mounted upon the arms 23 by providing upon the sides of t: crib longitudinally alined socket members or sleeves 29 through which the arms 23 are passed. Set screws 30 are provided in one or more of said socket members 29 for the purpose of retaining the crib in an adjusted position upon said arms. The sides 31 of the crib are pivoted at their lower corners as shown at 32 so that they can be swung downwardly when desired. Suitable catches 33 are provided for holding the sides in their upright or closed position.

The construction, use and advantages of the invention will be readily understood from the foregoing detail description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings; and it will be noted that owing to the various adjustments the attachment may be applied to a bed of almost any form and construction and easily manipulated. By mounting the standard for rotation the crib may be readily swung inwardly over the bed within convenient reach of an occupant of the same, shown in full lines in Fig. 1, or outwardly along side of the bed as indicated in dotted lines. By constructing the pivot of the standard as set forth and arranging it in the bearing socket for ready removal, the crib and its attached support and standard may be quickly taken off of the bed when the crib isnot needed, without the necessity of moving the bearing support 5.
