The cushions which are utilized'in'theseat and back sections of .the davenportbediand constitute members of said sections are frequently ununiform in thickness and are moreover liable to become 'disarranged or diminished in thickness by usage.

As a consequence of the facts mentioned respecting the cushions it is frequently diiiicult to accomplish-engagement ofthe pivotl members carried bythe back section With the pivot members `at the front of the: Seat sectionE due to these parts notl moving into f' proper registration with each other and itis the object ofmy .present improvement'to provide" a construction whereby the faulty .operation of the back' seat relative tothe seat section is overcome.

Another objectv of my present improveldavenport heil Sn'orfth in the'v ment is to provide for an easier operation of the back section by sustaining it upon swingv ing supports which prevent contact thereof with "the 'seat section While the rst mentioned sectio'nis being moved relative 'to the last mentioned section.

Another object is to rovide for a construction that permits o4 the use 'of simpler and more 'sightly pivotal members in connection with the seat section and back section .of the dave'nport bed.
