Be it known that Il, Cinema K. Prenons, a citizen of the United Sta and o resident ofthe city of St. Louis, tate of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements yin Cars, of which the followis a specification.
ie object of my invention is to provide a car with a luratity of sashes in each win- E one sash is flexible and iiiay be transparent and adapted to be raised inde :ident-ly or n conjunction with the other sasie so as to o the window of the car in which the sa is laced; and also to provide a window in w 'ch the sashes may be lowered either jointly or severally, so that when my improved car is used,-the windows ma be opened as much as desired and the sashes stored -under the roof lwhen not in i: use and at the same time 'the conventional lines -of a car are unchanged. This object is accomplished by my invention, certain embodiments of which are hereinafter more particularly described.
For a more particular description of my invention, reference is to be had to the draws forming a part hereof, in which,

Myimproved car 1 is provided with n stanchion 2 of the conventional forni which supports a roof 3, deck Vrail el, head-lining 5, curtain box 6, inside parting strips T und 8 respectively, formin a curtain groove 9 between them, a win ow sill 10, outside parting strip 11 and letter-board 12, and all these parts are of the conventional form so that a more detailed description is not necessary.
Immediately below fthe-roof 3 and secured to the stanchion2 is a curved ide 13 which is preferably a small channe iron secured by screws or other suitable means to the stanchion 2. This shaped as shown in `igs. 1 and 2. A ilexible -sasli 14 slides in the groove of the guide 13 and because it is flexible it easily takes its curve. This sash 14 is preferably formed with flexible side stri s '15 rigid end strips a5 16, a transparent niet lum 17, such as celluloid, held m the sash as glass is held in the ordinary sash for street cars, and suitable wiring inserted in said tra arent medium 17 just as wire is inserted m wired glass 1o for windows or otherwise. What I claim is 1.
