UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
SPRINKLING DEVICE.
Application filed. February 25, 1908.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, KARL SrURo THEODOR BJoRKMAN, of the city of Ottawa, in the county of Carleton, Province of Ontario, Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Sprinkling Devices, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in sprinkling devices, and the objects of my invention are to provide an exceedingly cheap and simple sprinkling device, particularly adaptable for use in tailor shops, and which will provide a hygienic and reliable method of sprinkling the garments when required, and which may be completely operated by one hand of the tailor; and it consists essentially of the improved construction hereinafter more fully set forth and described in the accompanying specifications and drawings. v
In the drawings, Figure l is a perspective view of my device. Fig. 2 is an enlarged longitudinal section of the sprinkler proper. Fig. 3 is a sectional view on the line 2-2, Fig. 2.
Referring to the drawings, A represents the water reservoir of any suitable construction and B and C suitable conducting pipes leading therefrom to sprinklers D. In accordance with my invention each of these are formed of a hollow bulb a of rubber or similar material having a tube 6 at one end thereof engaging the end of the conducting pipe and a nozzle 0 extending from the other end thereof having a rounded end d with perforations e therein. The opening to the nozzle 0 is normally kept closed by a stopper f held in position by two rubber arms 9 and it formed integral with the bulb a and extending across the same.
To retain the bulb in its spherical form a strengthening member 2' extends across the same, being enlarged at either extremity Specification of Letters Patent.

and joined to the sides of the bulb. In the neck Z) of the bulb a check valve j is provided opening inwardly, as shown in dotted lines.
In operation, the bulb is first compressed and then released, the releasal drawing the water in through the check valve y' from the reservoir A. Upon the next compression of the bulb, the check valve will be closed and the water forced out the nozzle 0, the stopper f being withdrawn by the elongation of the bulb.
It will thus be seen that I have devised an exceedingly cheap and simple device to carry out the objects of my invention.
What I claim as my invention is 1. A sprinkling device including a bulb, a nozzle therefor, a stopper for the nozzle, and arms connecting the stopper with the opposite side of the bulb.
2. A sprinkling device including a bulb, a nozzle therefor, a neck thereon adapted to communicate with the supply of liquid, a check valve in the neck, a stopper for the nozzle and means for removing the stopper when the bulb is elongated.
3. A sprinkling device, including a bulb, means for normally retaining the same in spherical shape, a nozzle on the bulb, a supply neck thereon and means for simultaneously opening the nozzle and closing the neck.
4:. A sprinkling device including a spherical bulb, a nozzle thereon having a closed end with perforations therein, a supply neck, a stopper for the nozzle, a check valve for the neck, and means for removing the stopper when the bulb is elongated.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two witnesses.
KARL STURC THEODOR BJRlIllIAN.
