The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the To all whom 'it l:m1/y concern:
Be it known that I, GREENLEAF STAOKPOLE, of New York city, in the county and State of New York, have 'Invented a new and useful Improvement in Mop- Holders.
The object of my invention is to providey a mopholder that, YWhile possessing all the advantages of any other, with greater convenience in use than any other, shall be cheaper than any7 rstclass mop-holder hitherto introduced.
I hereby declare that tbefollowing isa full and ex-v act description of my invention, which will enable those skilled in the alt. to make and use it, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which corresponding letters represent corresponding parts.
Figurel '1 is a front elevation of my invention, in which A is a lever,having a cam, B, at its lower end, which :is held in a slot by the pin O.
' When the lever A is pressedup against and parallel`with the handle, the cam is brought in such a position as to press down and hold `the clamps D D, iu such a manneras to pinch the cloth, or the material between said clamp .and the llower part of the frame E.
F is a cylinder, which slides into another cylinder H. The cylinder F contains a spring, I, and piston, L, against which the cam B operates.
The spring I is to lcompensate for the dierence in the thicknessesof the material, and' in the mop.
Figure 2 is an end elevation of my invention, showing the position of the lever when the clamping-bar D D is slid upwards to allow the material for the mop v to be put in between the clamp and wire frame E.
Figure 3 is a view of the cylinder F, with a portion removed, in order to show the spring I and piston L.
For the spring I, I prefer rubber. Having thus described my invention,
