Be it known that I, PARLEY J. JEWETI, a citizen of the United States of America, 1e" siding at Butler, in the county of Bates and State of Missouri, have invented new and useful Improvements in Road-Grading Machines, of which the following is a. specification.
This invention relates to road grading machines, and one of the principal objects of the sameis to rovide a sim le, cheap, light and convenient y operated evice for surfacing -roads and for grading from the ditches upon op osite sides of the road toward the center.

These and other objects me be attained by means of the construction i ustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which,- Figure 1 IS a plan view of a road scraperv and grader made in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a side view of the same.
Referring to the drawing for a more specific description of my invention, the numeral 1 designates the frame of the machine consisting of a land side 2 and a base or platform 3. The front end of the land side -2 is out on a bevel, as at 4', and the mold board 5 is secured to said land side with the edge of the 1 mold board fiush with the end of said land side.
The mold board is provided with a scraping edge 6 which lies in substantially the same horizontal plane as the bottom of the land side 2, said mold hoard being sli htly curved to carry the dirt over to the light as it is moved along.
