2 SHEETS-SHEET QANDERS ANDERSEN PINDSTOFTE, or FREDERIKSBERG, NEAR COPENHAGEN, Dis-mam I REVOLVING BOTTLE-FILLING APPARATUS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Bet-tented Aug. 4, 1908.
Application filed. March 13, 1907. Serial No. 362,141.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ANDERS ANDERsEN PINDSTOFTE, manufacturer, subject of Don- 1nark, residing at No. 62 Frederiksberg All,
Frederiksberg, near Copenhagen, Denmark, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Revolving Bottle-Filling A paratus, of which the following is a speci 1- cation.
My invention relates to improvements in revolving bottle filling apparatus provided with fixed siphon-tubes and adjustable bottle-supports, and the object of my improvements is to provide means by which all of such bottle-supports can be simultaneously adjusted in accordance with the bottle-size, and substantially in a direction )arallel with the fixed-si 'ihon-tubes. I attain this object by the mec anism illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is an elevation, partly in vertical section of the bottle-filling apparatus, the bottle-sup )orts being adjusted for the filling of 1/1 liter ottles; Fig.2 is a similarview; the bottle supports being adjusted for the filling of 1/2 liter-bottles.
Similar letters refer to similar parts of the figures.
The vertical shaft (1 has its bearin s in the frame-work b and is rotated manually or by other suitable means. The vessel 0 into which the liquid to be bottled is introduced is fixed to and revolves with the shaft (1. Said vessel is provided with a number of fixed siphon tubes (I, which near their lower end are provided with an opening v, throu h which the li uid flows from the vessel in to t 1e bottles whic i are inserted upon the tubes (1.
To the supportof the vessel 0 are secured rods e, one for each of the tubes (Z. Each of the rods 2 is situated in the same vertical plane as its corresponding tube (1 and sub stantially parallel with it. Each of the rods e is rovided with a slide f, which can move free y along the rod, and which is provided with an arm h forming a bottle-support and a second arm 1, the forhed end of which forms bearing for a roller or the like In. All the rollers m run u on a preferably circular table or plate n, t trough the center of which the shaft (1 )asses, and which plate or table a is supported y means of a nut 0 screwed upon a screwthreaded part of the shaft 0-, so that by turning the nut 0 by means of its handle p the plate or table It can be lowered or raised, thereby causing all the slides f to be simultaneously lowered or raised. Consequently all the bottle-supports It can be simultaneously adjusted for the filling of bottles of different size. Fig. 1' shows the bottletables adjusted for the filling of 1/1 literbottlcs, while Fig. 2 shows the b0ttlc-supports adjusted for the filling of 1/2 literottles.
The flow of liquid is started and stopped by means of a ring-shaped member s (Fig. 1) which is mounted upon the filling tube and which can be moved along said tube. The downward movementof said rin -shaped member is limited by a chain tor the like connecting the ring-shaped member with the upper part of the filling-tube. In its lower position said ring-shaped member a closes the opening v in the filling tube (see the right hand side of Fig. l) but when the bottle is inserted the ring-shaped member is moved upwards and opens the opening in the filling tube.
What I claim is:
1. In a revolving bottle filling apparatus, the combination with containing vessel for the liquid to be bottled, a revolving shaft on which said vessel is mounted, and a number of Sl)l1011 tubes carried by said vessel on which the bottles to be filled are inserted; of a plate or table mounted on the revolving shaft, means for adjusting said plate or table up or down, individual supports for the several bottles resting loosely and independently on the adjustable plate or table, and means for guiding the individual bottle supports on lines, parallel with the respective siphon tubes.
2. In a bottle filling apparatus, the combination of a revolving vertical shaft, a vessel for liquid to be bottled mounted on said shaft, inclined siphon tubes carried by said vessel and on which the bottles are to be severallyinsorted, a vertically adjustable table mounted on the revolving shaft below said vessel, separate bottle supports for the several bottles resting independently on the vertically adjustable table, and guides for the several bottle supports fixed in inclined position arallel with the several siphon tubes wherey the bottle supports are moved up or down. in line with the inclined siphon tubes, substantially as described.
3. In a bottle filling apparatus, the combination of a vertical shaft, a containing vessel for liquid to be bottled, mounted on said shaft, inclined siphon tubes carried by the containing vessel and on which the bottles to be filled are inserted, a vertically adjustable plate or table mounted on the shaft, separate supports forthe several bottles resting loosely and independently on the vertically adjustable plate or table, and guides for the several bottle supports parallel with the respective siphon tubes, whereby the bottle
