PAINTING OR WHITEWASHING PUMP.
Specification of Letters Patent.
. Patented July 21, 1908.
Application filed October 21, 1905. Serial No. 283,800.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ERNsT BRINKMANN, a subject of the King of Prussia, and residing at Breslau, Prussia, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Painting or Whitewashing Pumps, of which the following is a description.
The present invention relates to pumps for painting or whitewashing purposes and consists of the details of construction hereinafter set forth and particularly pointed out in the claim.
The accompanying drawing shows a side elevation of the pump with the bucket in sec tion.
A pump 1) of any suitable known construction, advantageously having the cylinder moved up and down over the plunger e and plunger rod d, is provided with the perforated suction head 0 which opens into the hollow' rod d. The delivery pipe f leads to a delivery head in known manner. The handle a of the pump cylinder 1; is of the form indicated in the detached view. One of the staves of the bucket g is prolonged upwardly, or a special post m may be provided to'the top of which a lever i is pivoted at Z. This lever simply rests on the handle a, and its movement upwardlyis limited by a stop 0, the downward movement being limited, as will be self evident by the stroke of the pump and the play by means of the spring d.
for the handle is limited by stops it n on the under sideof the said lever, which is provided with a handle 70. The cylinder is re' turned to its upper position after depression The plunger is rigidly supported at h on-the bottom of the bucket on to which the pump fits.
In operation an ordinary garden or whitewashing pump is fitted on to the socket and worked by means of the lever and the returning spring as will be readily understood on reference to the drawing.
the said antifriction device against the said lever, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
' ERNST BRINKMANN. Witnesses:
