To all whom it may concern: Be it known that I, MERVIN M. BLACK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Humphrey, in the county of Cattaraugus and btate of New York, have invented certain new and useful Im rovements in Supporting Devices; and I do ereby declare the follow.- ing to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to.

My invention relates to new and useful improvements in supporting devices and more articularly to that class adapted to be used or holding nursing bottles and my object is to provide means for adjustably securing the device to a cradle, buggy, or other article employed for holding infants.

A further object isto provide means for supportin the nursing bottle in position to be reache by the infant.

A still further object is to provide means for adjusting the bottle-holdin means at valleights and a still furt or object is to provide means for securing the bottle in position on the supporting device.

Other objects and advantages will be hereinafter referred to and more particularly pointed out in the claims.

In the accom anying drawin s which are made a part of t 's applicationjl igure 1 is a side elevation partly in section of my improved supporting device. Fig. 2 is a sectional view as seen on line 2-2, Fig. 1, and, Fig. 3 is a detail perspective view of the lower end of the bottle-supportin arm.

Referring to the drawings in which similar reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, 1 indicates a standard, to the lower end of which is secured a clip 2, the upper 'end of said clip having a socket 3, in which the end of the standard 1 is introduced and the standard is held therein by means of a binding screw 4. The clip 2 is ada ted to fit over parts of the object to whic the supporting device is to be attached and is held in position thereon by means of a locking bolt 5, said bolt bein threaded and introduced through a threade opening in one arm of the clip and has secured to its inner end a disk 6, said disk being loosely mounted on the bolt 5, so that the disk may remain stationary while the bolt is rotated.

The upper end of the standard'l is preferably bent downwardly and outwardly to form a shank 7, to the extreme outer end of which is secured a ball 8 and cooperating with said ball is a socket 9, carried at one end of a finger 10. The socket 9 is adapted to be turned on the ball 8, so as to dispose the finger 10 at various angles and in order to hold the finger in any pro-determined osition, a set screw 11 is directed through t e wall of the socket 9 and into engagement with the periphery of the ball.

One end of a supporting arm 12 is entered through an opening 13 in the outer end of the finger 10 and is adjustably secured therein by means of a set screw 14, whereby the lower end of the arm 12 may be adjusted at various distances from the finger and securely held in its adjusted position. The lower portion of the arm 12 is slightly curved and the extreme lower end thereof is bent upwardly and formed into an eye 15, said eye forniing a support for the closed end of a bottle having a tube secured thereto, as shown in Fig. 1 of the drawin s and adapted to receive the neck of a bott e when the nipple is attached directly to the neck, as shown in Fig. 3 of the drawings. A supporting device of the'class described, comprising a standard, means to adjustably secure said standard to an object, a finger, means to movably secure said finger to the standard, an arm adjustably secured to said finger the lower end of said arm being curved and means to support a bottle on sai arm and additional means to hold the bottle in position on the su porting means.

2. A. supporting evice of the class described, comprising a standard, means to adjustably secure the standard to an object, a shank on said standard, a finger, means to inovably secure the finger to the shank, a supporting arm, means to adjustably secure the supporting arm to the finger, an eye at the lower end of saidarm and means to support a bottle on said arm. 3. A supporting device of the class described, com rising a standard, a clip removably secure to said standard, means to socket on the ball, a supporting arm adjustably secured to said finger, an eye at the lower end ofsaid arm and a rack on said arm adapted to support a bottle.

4. A supporting device of the class described, comprising a standard, means to secure said standard to an object, a finger, means to adjustably secure the finger to the standard, a supporting arm adjustably secured to the finger, a rack on said arm and a lockin pin carried by the'arm adapted to surround bottle in position on said rack.
