The Schedule referred to in these Lettere. Patent and making par: of the name.`
Zo all whom it ma/y cmwcm Be it known that I, JOHN F. ADAMS, of .the city and county of Worcester, and State of Massachusetts,-
To enable'others skilled in the art to make anduse my invention, I will proceed to describe' its construction and use.
In the drawings- Figure l is a perspective view of my invention, as it appears when open, the leaf H K, to be operated upon, lying'upon the apron D.
Figures 2 and 3 represent vertical section in the implement, as it appears while under manipulation, in the process of rolling and condensing the foil.
I construct my machine as follows: I
A and B represent two sheets of thin metal, provided with handles, O and C', figs. 2 and 3.
D is an apron, made of any suitable 4flexible mate* rial, one edge of which is attached to the plate B, and the other to the plate A, as represented in the drawin s.
gIo use my implement, I proceed as'follows:
The two plates, A and B, 'are drawn apart, so as to extend the -apron D, as represented in fig. l. The leaf H K is laid upon it, as represented in g. 1. Now, by.taking hold of the two handles, O and O', and bringe ing the two plates together, as represented in figs. 2 and 3, the apron D, containing the leaf, will be folded between them.- Now, if they are pressed together, and
be given a sliding motion, oneupon another, the leaf will, by the action of the apron D, be rolled together, and condensed, ready for use.
Having thusdescribed my invention, I will now proceed to set forth my claim.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patentof the United States, is
As a new article of manufacture, a leaf-condenser,
consisting of the two plates A and B, combined with the apron D, operated substantially -as described, and for theQpurpose set forth. y
