The rigidseetion 3 is similarly providedwthjringsfO, resp'etively alinedwith the rin the 'section' 25 yadiaeent' edge of the latter.
1""ln securing theobagin place, the posts S are first secured infplace by engaging each s. l9-andseeured to i t e bottom lor lo'vver l post with thealinedrmgs 19 and 20, the
former engagingthe clip 18, and the latter engaging the .hoolr'li Food in desired the head strap 9 positioned over the head of the ani mal, and the hooks l() of said straps engaged' by the eyes i3 of said posts. ln this position the Weight of the foodof the bag will depress the stems 14 against the tension olf' the. spring 17, the partsheing ofsuch relative weight and strength as to normally maintain the :level of the food-within reach of the aniinalsv lips. As the food is eon'siimed the springs aet to draw upward upon therigid section of the bag, thus automatically maintaining the lfood level at the desired height. As the rigid section moves upward the section' 2 Will collapse or fold, as illustrated in Fig. 1, thereby notifying the 'attendant of the condition ofthe food Within the ba Owing to the speci c construction described, the supporting member'of the bag may be readily detached and formed in a small packa e when not desired for use, the collapsib e section 21 of the bag also providing for the ready folding of said section within the ri lid section, thereby providing a feed bag W ich may be conveniently carried or stored in small s ace when not in use.
Having thusdescribed my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure byLett/ers Patent, is'z- A feed bag comprising a ri id section, a col-'- f lapsible section connected t erewith, spring supports for said bag, comprising telescoping members, the spring of each of said supports tending to telescope said members, one end of one of saidmembers being connected to. the
lower end "bf the rigid section, the other of said members being connected intermediate its ends to the u er end of the collapsible section, the normafy distended )ositions o f the sections serving to maintain t e members eX- tended, the member connected to the collapsible section being directly supported from the head of 4the animal, whereby as the feed is exhausted from the bag the rigid section is graduallyl moved pward toward the mouth of the animal, the connection of the supporting member with the collapsible section and headof thefanimal serving to maintain the upper portion of the collapsible section in 'fixed reltaion to the head of the animal and thereby collapsing said section in the move- .ment of the rigid section.
In testimony whereof, I aflix in presence of two witnesses.
GEORGE 'RODRIGUEZ'.
