' gravel 5. cubic yards, sand 3 cubic yards, li
uid a'sphalt 808 gallons, petrolene 145 galons, petroleum 117 allons, Water'20 gallons.
The liquid aspha t, petrolene, petroleum and Water are to be thoroughly mixedand applied to the road surface, at a temperature of 185 Fahn, and the crushed rock, gravel and sand s read upon this mixture, mixingwith it, T isoper-ation' is to be repeated as soon after the first application as the surface is firm enough to bear the weight of machin:
er r0 ler, after the last. application, until it becomes smooth and hard. The above quanti' I ties will cover ap roximately 360 square yards of surface of tlie street or highway. a thicker cove desired, other applications may be ma e.
- andv The surface is to be rolled with a steam. ga lons o asphalt has been used in combination, as a,
