Specification of Letters Patent PatentedMarch 31, 1908.
Application filed April 1, 1901. Serial No. 385,718.
Be it known that I, Rrcrmnn TOENNES, a citizen of the United States, resi at Boonville, in the county of Cooper an State of Missouri, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Station-Indicators, of which the following is a specification.
' r This invention is a stat on indicator of the double reel and web type and having for-its:
object to provide improved meansfor actuating the reels to take'up the web as the car.
,the web may be rewound bnthe; ormer reel,

From the reel 8 the web IJIIS over a-barblO, toexhibit the same plainly, and is taken up on the up er or take up reel 7 which also has a s uare shaft 6 to receive a'key for winding w en desired.-
The car axle D has an eccentric-E thereon, with a strap and connecting rod joined to a flexible top or cover Gon a cup shaped casing H, forming a pump or bellows in which the air is alternately com re'ssed and expanded the reciprocation o the eccentric rod. A 1pc X extends from said bellows to a similar lows or pneumatic 11 which has a flexible cover '1 1 connected to a lever. 11 which is pivoted to a standard 11 ;-projecting from a ring 1 1 which serves to hold the cover 1 1 on the neumatic and also to support the parts on t e cross-pieces 12 whichare fixed to the casing.
'-,ratche,ts to the take up reel, win
socket-joint at 11? with a lever 1 which is piv- ,The lever 11 articulatesby a ball and oted at 1 totheside of the casing and this lever carries a spring pawl 1 which engages a ratchet 2' rotatable on the pivot 1. The ratchet 2 is connected bya wrist pin 2 with a allet 2 held by a s ring 2 in contact with a i arge ratchet 4 on t shaft of the reel 7. A
s'prm pawl-3 prevents back slip of the ratchet "*2-"an a similar pawl 4 performs'a like service for the ratchet 4.
.'To disengage the pallet 2 and pawl 4 i from the ratchet 4 a bent lever '5 is pivoted at 5, with one arm behind said pallet andpawl and the other projecting through the top of the casing. By pressing the lever down, the
pallet and free to turnback and;allow'the web to be rewound on the reel8.- f In oeration, rotation ternate y'ex'pands and contracts the 'pneu-' mati'cs in consequence of the movement of air from oneto the other I and the motion is communicated by the .lever, allets and g the'web thereon.
