IMPROVEMENT IN HARROWS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the name.

' This invention relates to a new harrow, which is composed of pamllel bars, connected by means of jointed bolts, so as to produce a flexible harrow, which will adapt itself to uneven ground much better than a solid or stiff harrow, and which will be much easier handled,
and occupy much less room when packed away, than the ordinary harrows now in use.
A A, in the drawing, are wooden and other bars, which are arranged parallel with each other, and at right angles to the line of draught, and which are conuected with each other by means of jointed bolts B B, near their ends, as shown.
The harrow-teeth E are tted in suitable manner to or through the heads A A.
The draught is applied to a ring, C, which is fitted loosely upon a bar or rod, D, that is fastened with its ends to the front bar A, near to the ends of the same, shown in fig. 1, and which is parallel with the front edge of said front bar A,k as shown, so that the ring can freely play thereon.
By means of the bolts, the distances between the bars A can be adjusted at will, and any desired numberof them may be used.
This barrow is much lighter than the solid ones, and will give, when itstrikes a stone, or other obstruction, whereby it is less liable to break.
By the peculiar dranght-arrangemeut, it will adjust itself to side-draught without affecting the team.
XVe claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A ileXible barrow, consisting of the bars A A, that are connected by jointed bolts, as set forth.
