This invention relates to improvements in electric transportation systems in Which'the cars are supported by the wires which carry the current for the motors which propel the cars.
The object of this invention is to provide I a system of this character especially adapted system embodying my invention.

A further object of this invention is to simplify the construction of systems of this character and to provide means for securing economy in the. use of the electric current.
My invention also consists in the features of construction and'combination of parts as described in the specification, pointed out in the-claims, and illustrated in the accon1 panying-drawings.

The motor car or driver com rises a frame or body portion 15, at each si e of which is mounted a standard 16, and the standardat one end of the frame is formed Ion er than the standard at 'the opposite en frame, thedifference between the lengths of the standards depending on thedistance between the wires on which the cartravels. A cross-bar 17 is 'p-ivotally secured at its center to the top of each standard 16, and. at each end of each cross-bar. 17 is journaled a shaft 18. One terminal of one motor is elec-' trically connected with one terminal of the other motor by a suitable conductor 30, and one terminal of each motor is electrically connected with'the grooved wheels 19 on the adjacent standard -16,by the driving mechan ism. The electric current will therefore flow from one wire through the wheels thereon, then through the'rnotors and to the other Wire through the wheels thereon.
