Be it known that I, vDAnniL MURPHY, a citizen of the United States, residing at St. Paul, in the county of Ramsey and State of Minnesota, have invented anew and useful Cotton-Harvester, of which the following is a specification;

In a general way, my invention consists of a system of pneumatic cotton-collecting tubes A, which are connected to a portable exhaust-receiverB. Said receiver, as shown, is an oblong box-like structure having at one end a door 2, which is hinged at 3 to the lower wall of said receiver. This door is made to fit tight by means of a gasket 1 and hinged bolts 5, which clamp the door in place by means of thumb-screws 6, bearing against the slotted cli s7, which are fastened on said door. The cut end of the receiver is formed with a platform 8, on which 18 mount ed a gasolene-engine 9 or other sultable motive mechanism which has adrive-pulley 10, connected by a belt 11 with another pulley 12, which is carried by the shaft of an exhaust fan or blower 13. Said fan, as shown, is mounted on the top of the receptacle and has its inlet passage-way 14 connectedthere-. with. A screen or perforated plate 15 is placed over the opening leading into said intake for the purpose of preventing cotton being carried out of said receiver. Near the opening into said inlet passage-way and mounted on the top of said receptacle is a swinging pipe 15*, which is connected by a swiveled joint 16, so that the horizontal por' tion 17, which extends'a considerable dis tance beyond the receiver, is adapted to be swung into any desired horizontal position.
