The object of the present invention is the provision of a label-holder adapted for holding labels, tickets, or other cards or sheets, especially adapted for holding druggists labels, which will be adapted upon manipula-' tion of keys by the operator to dispose the labels so that the operator can at once obtain the desired label.
The invention contemplates the'provision.

As many of these label-holding .drums may be employed as found convenient to accommodate the labels required in the particular business in connection with which the device is used. The label-holding drums are divided into a plurality of compartments 5, in which are removable drawers 5, having springs'5 I to hold packs of labels, all labels of the same kind being held in a given drawer. Springs one for each compartmentare secured- 'to the drums and hold the drawers 5 therein.
Secured to the side of each label drum or wheel 4 is an annular ring 6, and secured to the shaft 2 is a clutch-wheel 7 ,having inclined pockets 8 and turning close within the ring 6. In the,pockets 8 are loose balls 9. This construction provides, a friction-clutch which permits free turning of the label-holding drums independently of each other and independent stoppagethereof.

The arrangement is such that onthe actuation of a given stop-pin it selectively'engages the proper stop- 1n hole 10 and arrests the turning of the rum 4, solthat the proper compartment holding the desired label will be in the proper position for delivery to the operator.
Separate keys 15 independently control the various stop-pins, there being as many keys for each drum as there are stop-pins and compartments for that drum, so that on operating the proper key the proper stop-pin will select the sto -pin hole which'will bring the desired labe -compartment in proper position for delivery of the label the operator I may desire and which is indicated on the key in question. Each key is rigidly connected to a bell-crank lever 16, which is piv otally mounted at-17, and is connected by a rod 18 to a spring-bar 19, which is pivoted at 20, the upper end of the spring-bar being connected to the key stop-pin at 21 Positioned adjacent each poison-key is a spring-contact 25, projecting freely from an insulating-block 26 and having .a bindingpost 27, which is in circuit with an electric bell 28, via a wire 29, with included battery 30, while the bell is also in circuit with the metal frame of the machine by circuit-wire 31. When a po1sonlabelkey 1S operated, it touches the contact and closes the electricbell circuit, the bell continuing to ring as long as the bell is depressed,'and thus indicating the dangerous character of the label sought.
Secured to the shaft 2 is an annular clutch member 40, and turning loosely on the shaft and located within this clutch member 40 is a clutch-wheel 41 having inclined pockets 42, in which balls 43 are lOOSGlY POSltIOIIGd. A
key 44 is connected to the wheel 41 by the lever 45, pivoted at 46 to a rod 47, connected to lever 45.
In the frame 1 opposite the respective drums 4 are hinged doors 50 in front of openings 50 in the casing in'front of each drum. The doors 50 are hinged at 51 and have anglepieces 52:, operable by levers 53, pivoted to casing 1 at 54 and connected to the s ringlevers 19 by springs 55. The operator then depresses the: key bearing the word Quinin v and-'inidoing so causes-the stop-pin 13 to be projected, and as soon as the hole 10 corre sponding to the quinin label compartment comes in line with the actuated stop-pin 13 the stop-pin snaps into said hole by the action of'the spring-bar 19, thus immediatelyarresting the drum with the quinimcompartment opposite one of the doors 50, which thereupon automatically opens, and the operator ca'n' obtain the-label. Before releasing the quinin-key the operator pushes in. the pin 57 to lock the drumwhere stopped. The pin 57 is pulled out after the label is obtained, so the drum may be subse uently operated.
