To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE HUSTON STOUT, a citizen of the United States, residmg at Denver, in the county of Denver and State of Colorado, have invented anew and useful Fence-Post, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to fence-posts, and has for an object to provide a post embodymg new and improved features of durability, economy, convenience, and efiicienoy.
Aiurther object of the invention is to provide a post embodying an angle-iron upright having improved means for securing wires to the angle and with a strip of wood approximately filling the angle and to. which'boards may be nailed to form a conibination fence or a complete board fence orwind-break.
With these and other objects in view the present invention consists in the combination and arrangementof parts, as will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings, and particularly pointedout in the appended claims, it being understood. that changes in the form, proportion, size, and minor details may be made without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of this invention. In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the improved post with a combination-ience applied thereto. Fig. 2 is a view of the post in rear elevation with the wooden strip omitted. Fig. 3 is a view of the post in rear elevation. Fig. 4: is a transverse scctional view of the improved post.

The interior angle of the intermediate V will be approximately filled by a strip of wood or other penetrable material 21, tapered and beveled to substantially conform to the groove and with its end truncated to accommodate the wires 18 and rod 17. The wood strip may be secured within the angle in any approved manner, as by bolting, nailing, or by use of screws, as shown at 22. The wood strip affords means whereby any desired number of boards, as 23, may be secured to the post by naili in the usual manner and whereby a com ination or board fence may be constructed or the post used to support a wind-break or other structure. For use with wire fencing only the wood strips may be Omitted and the post used as shown in Fig. 2.
