Be it known that I, FRANK M. HILL, Jr., a citizen of the. United States, residing at Salem, in the county of Salem, State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Glass- Blowing Machine, of which the following is a specification.
My present invention relates to glass-blowing machines; and it consists of a novel conro struction of lifting mechanism by means of which the pressed blank is automatically removed from the press-mold.
It further consists of anovel construction coacting with the movement of the plunger i 5 to raise or lower the blow-head.
It further consists of a novel construction of lifting-rod and its adjuncts.
It further consists of other novel reatures of construction, all of which will be hereinafter fully set forth.

Referring to the drawings,1 designatesthe base of the machine, supported on suitable rollers or wheels 2 and provided with a conductor 3, by means of which the machine may be readily moved to a desired position.

The operationof the device is as follows:-
Having the parts in the position seen in Fig. 1, the operator places a ball of glass of a desired. size in the press-mold, which is at this time inoperative position under the presserhead 20, or which is moved into such a position, it being understood that the table 6 is provided. with a desired number of sockets 62, with which the end of the rod 61 engages, so that when the rod is seated in one of the sockets of the table 6a press-mold and a blow-mold will be in operative position under the blow-head and the presser-head. The operator now admitsmotive fluid to the pressing mechanism 18 by actuating the Handle 49, which causes the plunger 19 and the mechanism carried thereby to move downwardly, it being understood that at this time a ball of glass is in the press mold and that the neck-mold is in operative position on the press-mold. As the plunger and its adjuncts move downwardly the arms 7 O and 71 of the fork 68 contact with the handles 15 and 16 and the hinge of the neck-meld, and, since this fork is pivoted at69 to the rod 26, as the rod 26 moves downwardly the fork will turn upwardly, as seen in Fig. 3, and will pass be.- low the arms 15;and 16 and the hinge 14, it being noted that, owing to the provision of the recess 27 in the rod 26 and the pawl 28,

It will be further apparent that while I have plates it is to be understood that these are simply stops carried by the lifter-rods in order that the pivoted fork or arms on their upward movel'nent will be maintained in a suitable horizontal position.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, .is

In a glass-blowing machine, pressing and blowing mechanism, press-molds and blow-molds, a lifter member yieldingly carried by said pressing mechanism, a fork hinged to said lifter member, a stop for said fork, a neck-mold with which said fork is adapted to engage, and means intermediate said pressing and blowing mechanism for actuating the latter.
