Description

PATENTED DEC. 6, 1904.

GAS 000K. APPLICATION FILED JUNE 9, 1904.
N0 MODEL.
d h a.
ATTORNEYS volving convenience and facility in operation, that the operating part 20 is arranged with its axis coincident With the aXis of the'valve g and that the handle of the valve is one which projects laterally from the valve, for the device can thus be operated easily by one hand, the second, third, and fourth fingers grasping the handle, While the thumb and the first finger manipulate the part w.
Having thus fully described my invention, What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The combination of a valve-casing, a rotary valve arranged in said casing, said valve having an aXial bore, a longitudinally-movable stop-pin arranged in the valve transversely thereof and adapted to protrude therefrom, said valve-casing having a recess adapted to receive the protruding portion of said stop pin, a rotary spindle arranged in said bore and having enlargements at its ends forming bearings for said spindle in the bore, a spiral spring coiled about said spindle between the enlargements and having one end secured in said casing and the other end in one of said enlargements, an eccentric-pin projecting longitudinally from said spindle, said stop-pin having a lateral notch receiving said pin, and means for normally retaining said spindle in the valve With its pin engaged in the notch of the stop-pin, substantially as described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 6th day of June, 1904. a
