T0`ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that'I, M. M. FOLLETT, of Westboro, in the county of Worcester, and State of Massachusetts, have invented a. new and nsefni Improvement in Mop-Wringers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a; fullpcleur, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the artfto make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.
The nature of my invention relates to an improvement 4in mopfwringers, whereby the same may be more readily adjusted'td the pail or tub, and securely fastened tothe seme, and at the same time providing u ready means of detachmentJ so as to substitute one tub or pail for another. On reference to the drawings Figure 2 represents?. pla-n view of my improved device, and
Figure 1 represents a'verticalsecticn on the line :1; :e of iig. 2.i
' Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A represents thebed, upon which the post B is secured by the screw C, so tha/t it/may swing around the same. To the top of the post B is hinged the frame D, for supporting the squeezing-rollers E E, one of which is iu fixed bearings, the other having its journals passed through slots in the frame-pieces D, which admits of its being held in the positionv shovvnl in red in iig. 2y by the springs F-when not in use. To this roller are connected the cords a, which are guided over pulleys in the proper direction to the foot-treadle Gr. The end of' the roller-supporting frame, opposite to the post B, is connected to the bed-piece A by the link b, rod d, and staple The lower end of link C hooks into the staple e, so that it maybe easily hooked or unhooked with the same. y y
The operation of my invention will be readilyunderstood from an vinspection of the drawings. The pail ortub is placed on the platform A, the link 6 having been previously disconnected from the staple e, and the frame swung around to admit the pail or tubl being placed inthe right position, after which the frame is brought back und the hooks b and e connected together, when the frame is screwed down tightly on to the pail by the nut on the screw d. I
The wringing operation is performed by placing the mop betweenthe rollers`E when the movable roller is brought to bear hardagainst it by the foot oi' the operator bearing on the 'treadle, as in mop-wringers of ordinaryconstruction, when, by turning the crank attnchedrto the movable rollers, the operation is completed.
Having thus fully described my improvement, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The squeezing-roller frame, hinged to the oscillnting-post, and connected at its opposite end to the platform by the adjustable connection described, allsubstantially as and for the purpose set forth.
